Sonos delays Google Assistant integration until 2019, opens beta registration

There was much energy among audiophiles when the Sonos One was declared — there might at long last be a voice-controlled speaker with half-not too bad sound quality that doesn't cost $400 (like the Google Home Max). It propelled with Amazon Alexa (as did the Beam soundbar) and a guarantee of Google Assistant sooner or in the not so distant future, but that's sadly been pushed back to 2019.

It's now an entire year since the Sonos One was discharged, so it's somewhat frustrating that they haven't dealt with it yet. There's no reason given for the postponement, yet the organization says they're gaining great ground as they work with Google to get it going.

In somewhat more positive news, Sonos is enlisting clients to beta test the joining, so it must be at a propelled stage.  You can sign up to be considered as a tester here. The unclear guide is to "begin testing the involvement in a couple of hundred homes at first, and a couple of thousand homes in the coming months." In the interim, it may be worth attempting a workaround.
